The story behind the painting:

I am Monique, I am The Beauty of this world. Humans know about me, the chosen few are allowed to see me in their dreams. Symphonies, sonnets, sculptures and paintings are the reflection of these dreams. You can find my portraits in the museums all over the world, some artists  do not forget about by favorite pet Frosty, he is a guardian of my beauty.

Lost & Found: Picnic

Picnic, 2015, oil on gesso panel, 24″ x 18″, private collection

The story behind the painting:

My name is Lars de Montesquieu. You must have heard about my father, Baron de Montesquieu. My mother is still alive and well but she is not quite human. I love to travel. I travel in an old-fashioned way by train, boat or by car and I love to use my talents for slipping into parallel worlds and different realities. I believe that peculiarities of my genetics and upbringing provide me with unique means to finding keys to personal happiness. My twelve-volume treatise “Happiness is Easy” is going into its second printing but it has yet to be translated into Human language.

Lost & Found: Picnic 3

Picnic 3, 2016, oil on canvas, 8″ x 8″, framed, private collection

Picnic 3.  I always introduce myself by my full name: Lars, Baron de Montesquieu. I am with my dear friend Philip, today he took the form of a beautiful Monarch butterfly. I think that “Monarch” is much more appropriate description of his status and personality. For the occasion Philip wants lo look even more beautiful than he actually is, this afternoon we will be having a picnic in Bois de Boulogne with our friends Edouard, Auguste and incomparable Berthe. As always, Philip will be the center of attention, he also wants to push Edouard into painting his portrait. Philip never asks his friends of anything, but we all know that his wishes must be granted, the alternative is just too unpleasant! Of course, it is up to Edouard to decide whether to paint Philip as a butterfly or as his handsome self.

Lost & Found: Gustav

Possession: Gustav, 2015, oil gesso panel, 24″ x 18″, framed

was sold by Paddle 8 Auction during LAAA Annual Benefit Auction 2016

The story behind the painting:

My name is Gustav. I am happy today but also a little bit concerned. The closing was yesterday, final papers signed and sealed by our King today. Now I am the official owner of a little oasis in the desert, with a creek, a few dozen palms end even a few orange trees. Hard work and dedication to my Lord had been rewarded, but I am worried if I am worthy of such a present. My Lord is very kind to me.
